The Guardians of the Siona tribe Territory

From the vision of the Siona tribe ancestors, a group of Guardians of the Territory has emerged. They are a group of men and women that strive for the wellbeing and harmony of their people and their rainforest. They protect their rivers, seeds and medicines and stand by their elders to serve the community.
 
These guardians have the responsibility to participate in territorial patrol-watches, environmental mapping and monitoring activities and the control of hunting, fishing and lumbering enterprises. They also resolve conflicts within the community and supervise their borders.   
 
With the foundation, we’ve been supporting the Territory Guardians and the strengthening of their autonomy. We comprehend the complexities they face in protecting their territories and the lack of support they receive from the government.
